21 Grams My work was shown at an exhibition at the Dazed and Confused gallery in April 2007 along with other graphic designers and artists. The title of the exhibition comes from the experiments of Dr. Duncan MacDougall in the early 1900s. He tried to measure the weight lost by a human body when the soul departed upon death. This 21 page book contains 21 images of family members who I never met. 1 gram of each page has been removed, distorting the image, thus rendering any accurate interpretation impossible - an analogy for the impossibility of ever really knowing one's soul, or that of another. There are always parts of us hidden, purposefully or not. Organised by Ben Freeman. |
